the brkfst tribute. Mom, mother. the one who kept it, me, going all these years. who made brkst part of this balanced breakfast all my life. toast, cereal, waffles, eggs, and one time ice cream…strange but amazing. I would be skinny and less healthy if it weren’t for mom. as my older brother stated “things were always changing, she was trying new things” and then he went on to imitate her in a high pitched voice that sounded nothing like our mother yet somehow it did. She would make us continental brkfsts, brkfst in bed, brkfst with cartoons on Saturday mornings, it was the good life. we live/lived a rockstar life every morning. with work coming along, me and my older brother and older older brother have tried to give her a break, yet she still wakes up before us and prepares something worth sitting and eating for a few minutes…because it doesn’t take us very long to eat anything*. and because my mom made everything with love…which is kind of weird because then where would the food go? anyways, I have always had trouble understanding cliches…but the cat’s out of the bag now, and you can’t see the forest for the trees. and so, my fellow brkfsteers, so ends this brkfst post of brkfst posts. and for the end we/I/myself/Jordan say, this is the MoM brkfstspcl, thank you. I used capital letters for the M’s because it seemed awesome…and appropriate because my mom is capital. g’day, and enjoy your brkfsts for life. for nothing in life is quite like brkfst. I enjoy you all.
*speed eating: taking a longer time to cook and prepare than it does to consume the prepared food; a sport invented and practiced by my family, and even some good friends. dinner sometimes takes twelve minutes to consume. delicious.
